Job Description - Health Benefits Manager

Armand Corporation, an award-winning M/WBE Construction Management firm celebrating over 33 years in the industry, is seeking a full-time Health Benefits Manager.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience as a Health Benefits Manager, with proven expertise in managing health benefits, workplace injury claims, workers' compensation, and commuter benefits. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, such as ACA, HIPAA, ERISA, and OSHA, and demonstrate excellent communication and analytical skills.

If selected, candidates will need to provide digital proof of licensure and certification for all U.S.-based accolades, including academic degrees, before the time of the interview. Information provided will be handled with discretion and used purely for employment-related purposes, including background checks for various government agency clients.

This position will be full-time, on-site. Candidates are expected to live in or near the New York metropolitan area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage and administer the organization’s health, dental, vision, and wellness programs, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and alignment with employee needs.
  • Ensure reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities, adhering to ADA and other regulations.
  • Administer and oversee workplace injury claims and workers' compensation, ensuring compliance and timely resolution.
  • Manage commuter benefits programs, including transportation subsidies and parking, to meet employee and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee employee benefit offerings such as life insurance, disability insurance, and retirement plans.
  • Liaise with benefit providers and vendors to negotiate contracts, resolve issues, and meet service agreements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees, providing guidance on health benefits, workplace injury claims, workers' compensation, and commuter benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and prepare required reports and documentation.
  • Collaborate with HR leadership to design and implement benefit plan enhancements.
  • Lead the annual benefits enrollment process, including communication plans and system updates.
  • Develop and conduct benefits education sessions for employees.
  • Analyze data related to benefits usage, workplace injury trends, and commuter benefits to recommend improvements.
  • Address and resolve complex benefit issues, claims, and concerns in coordination with employees, vendors, and insurers.
QUALIFICATIONS include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration, focusing on health benefits, workplace injury claims, workers' compensation, and commuter benefits.
  • Strong knowledge of laws and regulations, including ACA, HIPAA, ERISA, and OSHA.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex benefits information clearly.
  • Proven experience in vendor management and negotiation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and recommend solutions.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration systems.
  • Professional certifications such as CEBS, PHR, or SHRM-CP are preferred.
