Electrophysiology & Cardiac Device Clinic

Hartford HealthCare is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our growing Electrophysiology (EP) and Cardiac Device Clinic team on a per diem basis. This unique role combines advanced patient care, cardiac device management, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary Heart & Vascular team dedicated to providing exceptional care for patients with cardiac rhythm disorders.

The APRN will provide comprehensive outpatient care for patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs), including pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), and cardiac resynchronization devices. Responsibilities include performing and interpreting device interrogations, reviewing remote monitoring transmissions, evaluating device diagnostics, and assisting with advanced programming and treatment recommendations.

In addition, the APRN will manage electrophysiology patients in the outpatient setting, including hospital follow-up visits, device implant pre-assessments, antiarrhythmic medication management, and post-ablation care. The role serves as a clinical resource for device clinic nursing staff and collaborates closely with electrophysiologists, cardiologists, and care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advanced outpatient care for patients with cardiac rhythm disorders and implanted cardiac devices.
• Perform and interpret device interrogations, diagnostic reviews, and remote monitoring assessments.
• Evaluate and manage antiarrhythmic medication therapy and electrophysiology follow-up care.
• Conduct hospital follow-up visits, pre-procedural assessments, and post-procedure evaluations.
• Collaborate with electrophysiologists, cardiologists, and nursing staff to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families regarding device function, post-operative care, and remote monitoring programs.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Serve as a clinical resource and support for nursing staff within the Cardiac Device Clinic.
