Heat Press Production Associate – 2nd Shift Seasonal PepWear, based in Cedar Hill, Texas, is a leading, growing company producing and selling screen-printed and embroidered apparel and commemorative plaques at school events and to school groups across the country. With a focus on service, integrity, and learning, our Team makes the difference! We are seeking detail-oriented individuals who want to join our Screen Print Department Team. The Heat Press Production Associate position is an entry-level position with ample opportunity to grow and learn new skills in this department and in other PepWear departments. Candidates must be comfortable working with quick turnarounds in a detail-oriented work environment. The ability to learn quickly and be willing to take on new challenges is a must. Experience in the printing industry or another fast-paced business is a big plus. Job Duties:
- Operate heat press machines to apply transfers, names, numbers, logos, and other graphics to apparel and products
- Properly position and align transfers on garments according to order specifications
- Set and monitor heat press temperature, pressure, and time based on the garment and transfer type
- Inspect transfers and finished garments for proper placement, adhesion, color, and overall quality
- Identify defects or application issues and re-press or set aside products for correction as needed
- Read and follow work orders, production instructions, and garment specifications accurately
- Sort and organize garments by order, size, style, color, or design before and after pressing
- Prepare garments for production, including removing packaging, tags, or other materials as required
- Fold, count, tag, bag, and package completed garments for the next stage of production or shipping
- Maintain accurate quantities and ensure completed items match the work order
- Keep heat press equipment and the surrounding work area clean, organized, and safe
- Follow established production procedures and quality-control standards
- Communicate shortages, damaged garments, incorrect transfers, or other production issues to the supervisor
- Assist with basic equipment setup and routine cleaning or maintenance as directed
- Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality and accuracy
- Assist other production departments, including screen print, embroidery, finishing, packing, and shipping, as needed
- Perform other production duties as assigned
Job Skills & Qualifications Required:
Physically able to stand for long hours if needed and lift 30 pounds repeatedly
Must be able to read English and comprehend job specifications to verify quality
Must be able to count and do simple math to track order quantities
Be a team player willing to help when and wherever needed
Preferred:
Experience in the printing industry: screen printing, embroidery, wide format, or paper
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and file management
Shift Hours 2nd Shift afternoon/evening hours 2:45 p.m.- 11 p.m. Other Information
- Regular work hours are daytime, Monday through Friday
- Some evening work may be necessary during peak seasons
- Screen Printing Room does have heat exposure and wet environments
- Personal Safety Equipment is provided and required in Screen Printing Areas
- A Criminal Background Check is required
