Heavy Equipment Operator – Loader, Forklift & Railcar Mover (Full-Time, 1st Shift)
Location: Carolina Metal Recyclers (CMR) – Garner, NC

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Saturdays, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Pay: $17–$22/hour (based on experience)

Carolina Metal Recyclers (CMR) is hiring a physically active, hands-on Heavy Equipment Operator to work in a fast-paced, outdoor scrap yard environment. If you’re experienced with heavy machinery and thrive in rough, industrial settings—this job is for you.

You’ll operate a variety of equipment including front-end loaders, forklifts, and skid steers.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  

  Operate a large front-end loader to load scrap metal into trucks, railcars, and hoppers

  
  
  
  
  • 
    

    Experience with scale on bucket of loader is a plus

    
    
  
  
  
  


• 
  

  Perform daily equipment checks, basic maintenance, and routine greasing/cleaning

  
  


• 
  

  Communicate clearly with team members over two-way radio

  
  


• 
  

  Work safely and effectively in a rugged, outdoor industrial environment

  
  

What We’re Looking For:

• 
  

  5+ years of experience with heavy equipment preferred

  
  


• 
  

  Proven ability to operate front-end loaders, forklifts, and skid steers

  
  


• 
  

  Comfortable with physically demanding work and outdoor conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise)

  Reliable, safety-minded, and a true team player
