Job Description:
 

Essential duties:

• Operate trucks/ heavy equipment in all aspects of mining.
• Perform proper equipment startup and shut down procedures.
• Operate within acceptable range of all gauges on instrumentation panel.
• Perform all job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety policies, and state and federal environmental regulations.
• Practice defensive driving and operating at all times.
• Maintain a positive & constructive attitude towards safety, supervision and fellow employees.

Other duties:

• Work with other equipment in a safe and organized manner.
• Perform utility work and operate utility equipment.
• Assist maintenance department with routine repairs.
• Keep supervisor informed of any potential problems.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Have the knowledge and ability to respond to emergencies and unpredictable situations.
• Ability to recognize adverse conditions and the knowledge to correct them.

Education and Training:

High school diploma/GED and vocational training or equivalent experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Must work rotating shift, with some work being performed outside in all weather conditions with frequent exposure to disagreeable elements and hazards including heights.
