Average Daily Volume:

Hospital: 10 -15 patients/day
Outpatient: 15 patients/day

Rounding: Yes
Case Mix: >90% Hematology (Benign & Malignant), <10% Solid Tumor Oncology

FACILITY INFORMATION

EMR System: Epic
Specialty Backup Available: Radiation Oncology, APPs
Support Staff Available: APPs (5 inpatient, 6 outpatient)

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
Credentialing Timeline: 90 -120 days

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

FNA/Biopsy

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Board: Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology
Licenses: Active MI License or willing to obtain
Certifications: BLS

Duties & Responsibilities

Provide inpatient hematology/oncology consult service and rounding on patients
Manage outpatient clinic and infusion center patients (predominantly hematology)
Participate in shared call pool (1:5) with APP support after hours
Active participation in tumor board
Order diagnostic tests, imaging studies, and prescribe medications
Perform bone marrow biopsies and fine needle aspirations (FNA)
