Temporary Position


$15.00 per hour


 


EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE



  • Minimum certification requirements - Must be at least 16 years old (summer camp) and 17 years old (water safety). 

  • Applicant must have American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification and instructional experience (water safety and lifeguard).

  • American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification preferred but not required (water safety and lifeguard).

  • Experience working with children preferred. 


 


QUALIFICATIONS



  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

  ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 


Water Safety



  • Assists and instruct 5th grade students with swimming skills. 

  • Teaches students how to be safe in and around the water.

  • Supervises students in an aquatic environment.


 


Summer Camp



  • Assists with check-in and assignments.

  • Monitors campers during snack time, swimming time and restroom breaks. 

  • Helps set-up and clean-up daily camp activities.

  • Interacts with campers during daily game time and swim time. 

  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.


 


ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
