The Hiring Manager is responsible for leading all recruiting, hiring, and onboarding efforts to ensure the restaurant attracts, selects, and retains top talent. This role ensures a consistent pipeline of high‑quality candidates, maintains excellent communication with applicants and
leaders, and supports the Operator by building a strong, values‑driven team.
The Hiring Manager will also support HR administration, team member engagement, and personnel file organization. This role is critical to sustaining Chick‑fil‑A’s culture of care, excellence, and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition & Recruiting (Primary Focus)
- Manage all job postings across platforms (Indeed, Workstream, Chick‑fil‑A Talent Community, social media, etc.)
- Maintain the job applications; screen candidates daily
- Conduct phone screens, schedule interviews, and coordinate with Directors for second‑round interviews
- Build and maintain a consistent talent pipeline for Front of House, Back of House, and Leadership roles
- Attend local hiring events, job fairs, and community outreach opportunities
- Develop creative recruiting strategies to attract high‑quality applicants
- Track recruiting metrics (time‑to‑hire, applicant flow, interview‑to‑hire ratio, etc.)
- Maintain and update hiring SOPs and interview guides and recruiting workflows
Onboarding & New Hire Experience
- Oversee the full onboarding process from offer letter to first day
- Ensure I‑9 verification and E‑Verify completion
- Maintain accurate and compliant new hire documentation
- Coordinate uniform ordering, distribution, and tracking
- Facilitate New Hire Orientation and ensure a smooth transition into training
- Maintain onboarding checklists and ensure all steps are completed
- Collaborate with Training, Front of House and Back of House Directors to ensure new hires are scheduled appropriately
HR Administration & Employee Records
- Maintain employee files (physical and digital) including disciplines, write‑ups, and performance notes
- Update and maintain the Employee Handbook as directed
- Track team member milestones (birthdays, anniversaries, promotions) and support recognition efforts
- Maintain discipline tracking spreadsheet and ensure documentation accuracy
- Assist with payroll preparation if and as needed (time punch audits, direct deposit updates, deductions, reimbursements)
- Support employee review processes by tracking due dates and ensuring timely completion (physical and digital)
Office & Compliance Support
- Maintain I‑9 documentation and ensure compliance
- Keep HR‑related documentation organized (labor law posters, MSDS sheets, emergency contacts, etc.)
- Assist with CARES responses (Priority 1, 2 & 3)
- Support the Operator and Directors with administrative tasks as needed
Culture, Engagement & Team Support
- Support team member recognition programs
- Assist with team events, celebrations, and culture‑building initiatives
- Maintain a welcoming, organized, and professional back‑office environment
- Model Chick‑fil‑A’s core values and serve as a culture ambassador
- Assists with restaurant operations during mealtimes as well as other duties as assigned to support the team.
