Job Summary

As a Histology Technician, you will perform a variety of histology and cytology procedures to support diagnostic care. Your responsibilities include specimen processing, embedding, microtomy, slide preparation, and performing routine and special stains. You will maintain reagent preparation, equipment maintenance, and quality control documentation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform histology and cytology procedures, including specimen processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining.
• Ensure positive identification of samples, blocks, and slides.
• Prepare and maintain reagents for all histology procedures.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment per department schedules.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to maintain procedural accuracy and equipment performance.
• Follow quality control and quality assurance protocols for all instrumentation and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or a related field.
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a high-volume histology setting.
• Certified Technologist (required).
