Description

A Home Health and Hospice Office Assistant ensures that services provided to patients will be reimbursed and handles the majority of back-office duties.

Advanced Home Health and Hospice of Northern Idaho is dedicated to providing compassionate home health nursing and rehabilitation services to the residents of Coeur d’Alene and the surrounding areas. We are the industry leader in providing the in-home nursing and therapy services necessary to increase and promote healthy and independent living with a focus on medication management, wound care, gait training, balance, and overall well-being.

Schedule: Full-Time, Weekdays, 8AM-5PM

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to read, research, and route correspondence to appropriate parties
  • Verify eligibility and benefits via phone and online portals for a variety of insurances and Medicare
  • Complete intake of new patient admissions in EHR software and schedule initial care visits
  • Ensure all physician orders are sent, signed, and returned within the allotted time
  • Track, manage, and collect all co-pays and patient responsibility amounts in a timely manner
  • Responsible for completing all necessary steps in claim filing before submission by the corporate office
  • Efficiently collect and analyze information
  • Operate and manage multi-line phone system
  • Weekly bank deposits
  • Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with co-workers
  • Support Advanced Home Health and Hospice culture by promoting “Friendly, Positive, and Focused on Excellence"

Requirements

Competencies:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Proficient in mathematical, verbal, written, and computer skills, as well as reasoning ability
  • Excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently

Job Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2-years medical office experience required
  • Knowledge of home health/hospice operations preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to walk, sit, stand, bend, reach, lift, and move about
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
