Position Overview

St. Michael’s Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Hospitalist Physician to join our growing inpatient medicine team in Newark, New Jersey. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a community-focused teaching hospital that provides comprehensive, patient-centered care to a diverse population while working alongside experienced physicians and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities






 

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for hospitalized adult patients.
  • Admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and discharge patients in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with specialists, nursing staff, case management, pharmacy, and ancillary services to coordinate patient care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Accurately document patient encounters using the electronic medical record.
  • Ensure efficient patient throughput while maintaining high-quality clinical outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, consultants, and referring physicians.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, peer review activities, and hospital committees as appropriate.








Qualifications






 

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Eligible for an unrestricted New Jersey medical license.
  • DEA certification required prior to employment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality patient care and teamwork.
  • New graduates and experienced physicians are encouraged to apply.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $250,000to $300,000 The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
