Position Summary
- The Host is responsible for greeting guests, confirming reservations, and seating all patrons of the restaurant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Welcome guests to the restaurant.
- Manage reservations.
- Escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas.
- Provide menus and announce Waiter/Waitress’s name.
- Greet customers upon their departure.
- Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options.
- Maintain a clean reception area.
- Cater to guests who require extra attention (children, elderly, etc.).
- Assist wait staff as needed.
- Perform other duties as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Applicants must be at least 16 years old by their first day of employment.
- Understanding of restaurant etiquette and front-of-house operations.
- Ability to manage reservations and guest inquiries efficiently.
- Demonstrated customer-service skills with a professional, friendly demeanor.
- Excellent verbal communication skills; able to give and follow instructions clearly.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor dining and bar areas.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
- Physically able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform tasks for extended periods (up to 5 hours at a time).
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. occasionally, 30 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. constantly.
- Ability to visually inspect and maintain work areas for cleanliness and organization.
