POSITION SUMMARY
The Host/Hostess serves as the first point of contact for Members and Guests and plays a critical role in creating a welcoming, organized, and exceptional dining and event experience. This full-time seasonal position is responsible for greeting Members and Guests, managing reservations, coordinating seating arrangements, and supporting the overall flow of dining operations. The Host/Hostess also supports Club functions, banquets, Member events, tournaments, and special events by assisting with Member and Guest arrival, event check-in, seating, directions, and overall event flow as operational needs require. The Host/Hostess serves as an ambassador of Hideaway Golf Club's hospitality culture by providing warm, personalized, and professional service while maintaining the refined standards associated with a premier private club environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Welcome Members and Guests promptly, professionally, and courteously upon arrival.
· Learn and recognize Member names and preferences whenever possible.
· Manage reservations, seating assignments, wait lists, and table rotations to ensure efficient dining room operations.
· Escort Members and Guests to their tables while providing a warm and personalized welcome.
· Maintain accurate reservation records and communicate special requests, preferences, dietary needs, and celebrations to service staff.
· Monitor dining room activity and coordinate seating to maximize service efficiency and Member satisfaction.
· Answer telephone calls professionally and assist Members with dining reservations and inquiries.
· Communicate effectively with Servers, Bartenders, Bussers, culinary staff, and management regarding reservations, seating needs, and operational updates.
· Assist with setup and maintenance of host stands, menus, reservation systems, and dining room presentation.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and reception area.
· Assist Members and Guests with directions, information, and general Club inquiries.
· Report to work as scheduled, in proper uniform, and prepared to perform assigned duties.
· Follow Club policies, procedures, and service standards.
· Support a safe working environment and immediately report unsafe conditions.
· Perform additional duties as assigned.
BANQUET & SPECIAL EVENT SUPPORT
· Support the Banquet and Events Team in the execution of Club functions, Member events, private parties, tournaments, holiday events, and other special events as assigned.
· Welcome Members and Guests upon arrival at Club functions and special events, providing a warm, polished, and professional first impression.
· Assist with event check-in, registration, guest lists, name recognition, seating assignments, place cards, event materials, and other arrival-related responsibilities as directed.
· Escort or direct Members and Guests to event locations, assigned tables, reception areas, dining spaces, and other Club facilities.
· Become familiar with event layouts, seating plans, timelines, and function details to accurately answer Member and Guest questions and provide appropriate direction.
· Assist with the preparation and organization of event-related materials, including menus, signage, seating charts, place cards, reservation lists, and other front-of-house materials.
· Monitor Member and Guest arrival and event flow, communicating promptly with Banquet, Food & Beverage, and Club leadership regarding seating needs, special requests, changes, or service concerns.
· Work collaboratively with Banquet, Culinary, and Food & Beverage Team Members to ensure seamless event execution and an exceptional Member and Guest experience.
· Assist with reasonable event setup, reset, and breakdown responsibilities related to the host and reception function, including organizing signage, menus, seating materials, and reception areas.
· Remain flexible in assigned duties and service areas based on operational and event needs, including providing hospitality support outside of regularly assigned restaurant or reception areas.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous hospitality, restaurant, club, resort, hotel, or customer service experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Standing for extended periods while greeting Members and Guests, managing reservations, and overseeing dining room seating operations.
• Walking throughout dining rooms, patios, banquet spaces, and Club facilities while escorting Members and Guests and coordinating seating assignments.
• Using hands and fingers frequently to operate telephones, computers, tablets, reservation systems, seating charts, and other hospitality-related equipment.
• Reaching, bending, and stooping occasionally to retrieve menus, reservation materials, office supplies, and other operational items.
• Communicating continuously with Members, Guests, Servers, Bartenders, culinary staff, and management to coordinate reservations, seating arrangements, special requests, and dining room operations.
• Reading reservation systems, seating charts, event information, menus, signage, and other operational documents requiring close and distance vision.
• Identifying Member arrivals, table availability, dining room activity, and potential safety hazards requiring depth perception, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Lifting and carrying menus, reservation materials, signage, office supplies, and other hospitality-related items weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Working indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, wind, and other weather conditions associated with Club operations and special events.
• Maintaining awareness of Member arrivals, reservation schedules, dining room activity, service flow, and operational priorities while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional private club environment. This role regularly interacts with Members, Guests, and Team Members while working within dining rooms, patios, banquet spaces, reception areas, and other Club facilities. The Host/Hostess utilizes telephones, reservation systems, computers, tablets, and other standard office and hospitality equipment. Service areas may include restaurants, Clubhouse exterior grounds, special event locations, and other areas throughout the Club. The Host/Hostess is expected to maintain a polished, professional presence while creating a welcoming and organized environment for Members and Guests.
