Hot Mill Day Supervisor

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking a leader for the position of Hot Mill Day Supervisor. The Day Supervisor will lead the Hot Mill and/or Hot Mill Roll Shop's efforts to become the world's safest steel company. This position is an integral member of the Hot Mill leadership team and will be responsible for leading the efforts to continually improve our safety, profitability and team member development. This will include promoting a culture of ownership, engagement, and teamwork working with other departments to ensure consistency and the long term success of the division.

Nucor Steel West Virginia is Nucor's new sheet mill with advanced steelmaking capabilities. This steel mill will employ 800 full-time teammates producing up to 3 million tons per year at one of the most technologically advanced sheet mills. This advanced manufacturing facility is located along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5 years sheet mill hot rolling or roll shop experience


• 3 years of experience leading, training, and developing teams in the steel industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a supervisory position 


• Bachelor's degree


• Geographical mobility and desire to promote
