The Housekeeper provides a variety of services and duties to ensure the sanitation, infection control and cleanliness of Heron’s Key’s facilities.
Pay Scale: $18.40- $23.58 Hours and DaysSchedule is Friday through Tuesday 7:30am to 4:00 pm. Wednesdays and Thursdays off. Weekends are required.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Requires regular, predictable, and dependable attendance.
- Interacts with residents using superior customer service techniques.
- Provides general cleaning services of resident living areas such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors, dusting and emptying trash.
- Makes beds and/or changes linens.
- Cleans large appliances: refrigerators, stoves/ovens, washers, dryers and microwaves.
- Disinfects medical equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, medicine carts, and beds.
- Handles soiled linens using universal infection protection techniques.
- Performs laundry services for residents, Health Services and Food & Beverage departments using commercial laundry equipment.
- Irons, folds and returns clean laundry to residents, Health Services and Food & Beverage departments.
- Provides pet care for pets including walking, feeding and changing litter boxes.
- Restocks skilled nursing home rooms with bathroom supplies including toilet tissues, paper towels, hand soap, and gloves.
- Spot-cleans carpets.
- Distribute drinking water to residents living in Penrose Harbor.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- High school degree or GED required.
- Three months’ housekeeping/laundry service experience preferred.
- Common sense and good judgment.
- Able to learn new procedures and techniques quickly.
- Able to work effectively and efficiently.
- Able to work both independently or in a team environment.
- Deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the general public.
- Able to keep confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and co-workers in English
