Housekeeping

We are currently looking for a hardworking and motivated individual to join our housekeeping team. Hotel Housekeeping helps maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and general safety of the hotel. He or she works with a minimum of supervision to ensure all areas of the hotel are maintained in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition by performing various tasks using the necessary equipment and supplies, which includes cleaning all common areas (corridors, elevators, guest areas, service areas, restrooms, and linen closets, etc.) and assigned guests rooms.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of housekeeping/custodial experience that includes knowledge of basic cleaning supplies and equipment. He or she must have the physical ability to perform all aspects of this job (lifting, standing, bending, etc.), must be reliable and trustworthy, and must pay attention to detail and take pride in his or her work.

This position is ideal for a mature individual and does include weekday, weekend and holiday hours.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Cleans daily all assigned rooms, halls, and other areas
• Changes bed linens and make beds according to hotel standards
• Replenishes guest room amenities, toiletries, and towels, coffee supplies and guest necessities 
• Cleans and sanitizes - following infection-control procedures at all times while cleaning restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures
• Inspects guest rooms for cleanliness, damage, missing items and maintenance concerns; reports findings promptly 
• Adheres to lost and found procedures and accurately documents found items 
• Maintains guest privacy and confidentiality while working in occupied rooms
• Ensures housekeeping carts are fully stocked and organized before and during shift
• Ensures linen closet is stocked and organized
• Maintains inventory of all housekeeping supplies and coordinates reorders
• Collaborates with front desk coworkers and maintenance as needed to ensure room readiness 
• Refinishes hard surface floors and cleans carpeted areas as scheduled or needed
• Maintains clean, organized work areas and securely stores equipment and supplies
• Completes room status updates and housekeeping records accurately and on time
• Completes any reports or logs 
• Reports equipment malfunctions, injuries, and accidents to the supervisor immediately 
• Responds promptly and professionally to all guest requests and staff needs
• Assists with deep-cleaning projects and seasonal cleaning assignments as directed 
• Maintains regular attendance and punctuality, adheres to work schedule
• Communicate effectively with the Housekeeping Supervisor regarding room status, work progress, guest requests, maintenance concerns, and any issues that my impact daily operations
• Attends required team meetings
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Knowledge of commercial cleaning methods and tools/products
• Safety and customer service oriented
• Able to follow spoken and written instructions
• Able to work independently while maintaining productivity standards 
• Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude while when interacting with guests and coworkers 
• Maintain strict attention to detail and quality standards
• Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
• Able to work a flexible schedule, which may include working days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
