Housekeeping - The Blennerhassett, A Giovanni Hotel & Spa

Some hotels feel like every other one off the highway. The Blennerhassett isn't one of them. Our five-story landmark has been the heart of downtown Parkersburg since 1889, and guests have been coming back for generations. When they walk into their room, you're the reason it feels special.

Taylor Hospitality is looking for friendly, motivated Housekeepers, full time and part time, to help us take care of this hotel and the people who stay here. If you take pride in a job done right and like being part of a team that has each other's backs, we'd love to meet you.

Compensation: Starting pay of $12.00 - $13.00 per hour

What you'll be doing

• Cleaning and refreshing your assigned guest rooms: making beds, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, taking out trash, and restocking amenities


• Keeping your housekeeping cart stocked and organized, from the start of your shift to the end


• Picking up your room assignments, keys, and priority requests from your supervisor at the start of each shift, and turning in keys and supplies at the end


• Helping guests with requests and passing along any concerns so they get taken care of quickly


• Reporting damage, maintenance issues, lost-and-found items, or anything that doesn't look right


• Keeping your hallways neat and helping with daily projects and inventories


• Pitching in to help your teammates when they need it

What we're looking for

• A reliable team player who shows up on time and follows through


• A sharp eye for detail. You notice the little things guests notice.


• Good time management, so your rooms get done without cutting corners


• A friendly, even-tempered attitude with guests and coworkers


• Ability to follow written and spoken instructions, including chemical safety guidelines


• A high school diploma or GED and prior housekeeping experience are preferred. No experience? We'll train you.

The physical side of the job

This is an active job. You'll be on your feet for most of your shift, pushing a supply cart, bending and kneeling to clean and make beds, reaching high and low, and taking some stairs. You'll work with standard cleaning chemicals, and the work is all indoors.
