Job Summary
This role partners with employees and leaders to support employee relations, labor relations, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, attendance, and HR policies and procedures. The HR Generalist assists with union contract administration, grievance handling, investigations, and disciplinary processes while ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws and company policies. This position works closely with plant leadership and employees to promote a positive workplace culture, support operational goals, and ensure consistent and fair application of HR practices.
Essential Functions:
- Recruit for all levels within the Assembly group and provide tools and guidance to hiring managers/supervisors.
- Serve as the lead for onboarding of new employees
- Build network of recruitment sources for vacant positions.
- Coordinate hourly Job Board postings & awards/Interviews (internal & external)
- Work closely with HR Manager to ensure compliance of standardized process including pre-employment screening, on-site interviews, reference checking, and employment offers.
- Ensure recruitment metrics and targets are achieved.
- Assist the HR Manager in championing the DOJO training program
- Support teams and advise on their training and development needs, while maintaining an accurate training database.
- IATF documentation upkeep of training procedures & support of company goals
- Administers various Human Resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
- Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing.
- Responsible for administration of hourly compensation program, including payroll and HRIS.
- To support the group leader/team leader in achieving the company’s/group’s objectives.
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
- Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles
- Other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications Required:
- Previous experience in a Human Resources role
- Heavy recruitment experience
- Previous experience in a position conducting training and facilitating team problem solving
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Qualifications Desired:
- Bachelors’ degree in business or technical field
- PHR certification
- Black belt or other Lean Manufacturing designation
- High energy, self-starting individual with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Other Requirements:
- Demonstrated computer proficiency in MS-Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), and other software applications: e-mail, Internet.

Salary Range: $65,748.00 - $82,182.00
