Purpose:
This position manages and coordinates human resource activities including employee relations, recruiting and selection for hourly & salaried positions, benefits coordination, and policy enforcement. The Human Resource Manager is responsible for supporting all HR functions at the Luckey plant including payroll, training & development, employee relations, communication, and recruitment.
Essential Functions:
- Manage and administer local employee policies and benefit programs in accordance with prescribed company and plant policies.
- Responsible for developing and executing manning and salaried headcount within budgeted guidelines.
- Ensures appropriate documentation and application for relevant government training grant opportunities.
- Developing and maintaining appropriate personnel requirement
- All hiring for hourly and salaried employees and associated processes
- Establishes open lines of communication with employees to meet the objectives of the Company and its employees.
- Responsible for communication process within the Luckey Plant
- Standardized Cascading Communication Process
- Shop floor presence is a must.
- Support the training and development of employees.
- New hire orientation for both hourly & salaried employees
- Any required legal training
- Ethics and compliance training.
- Coordinate and lead all Succession Planning activities.
- Support the training and job assignment process.
- Develop and implement plant policy changes as needed.
- Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
- Supervise HR Generalist – training & development.
- Manage all employee events sponsored by the plant.
- Support plant initiatives such as:
- Assisting with the design of lunchroom and restrooms
- ID badges, uniforms, time clocks, rebuilds, etc…
- Coordination of hourly and salaried offsite events
- Support Community Relations activities
- Support the facility in achieving the company’s group’s objectives.
- Perform exit interviews and monitor trends for retention issues.
- Adherence to the NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its’ Values and Principles
- All other assigned duties.

Qualifications Required:
- 3-5 years progressive experience in Human Resources, preferably in manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of applicable State & Federal Employment Laws
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of HRIS Systems
Qualifications Desired:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Knowledge of UKG HRIS System
