Human Resources Manager (Full-Time)
We are seeking a charismatic Human Resources Manager to lead our team of employees and foster a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace environment. The HR Manager will oversee all facets of human resources management, including (but not limited to) talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training and development, policy and procedure compliance, payroll, and time and attendance. We are looking for someone who will shape a positive and engaging agency culture, foster team building and collaboration, and promote productivity. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader knowledgeable in HR best practices, detailoriented, a good listener and communicator, and a genuine team player.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
Benefits: 3 weeks paid leave (plus two bonus days), 14 paid holidays, paid bereavement leave (we do not offer health insurance)
Regular Hours: 8:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (37.5 hour work week)
Work Location: In person (must be willing to travel between office locations in New Albany, IN and Louisville, KY)
Responsibilities:
- Manage full cycle recruiting for experienced insurance agents
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to attract skilled employees
- Oversee new hire orientation and onboarding processes
- Serve as point of contact for employee relations and conflict resolution
- Ensure agency HR policies are up-to-date and legally compliant
- Conduct PIP plans and support corrective actions as needed
- Supervise scheduling and process time off requests
- Assist in payroll processing, including monitoring time and attendance records
- Implement and manage annual performance review cycles
- Promote and track training and development for all employees
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in HR
- Ensure accurate records of employment, benefits, compensation, and compliance documentation
- Support employee engagement initiatives
- Assist in organizing team-building events and culture-enhancing activities
- Foster a positive and productive workplace culture
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field preferred
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
- 5+ years of HR experience
- Broad generalist background, including experience in talent acquisition, payroll, employee relations, and compliance
- Supervisory experience and the ability to scale HR processes for growing teams
- Deep knowledge of federal, Kentucky, and Indiana labor/employment laws
- Familiarity with payroll systems and reporting preferred
- Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Outlook, Word, OneNote
- Understanding of compensation planning and benefits strategy
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to build trust and act as a confidential advisor
- Strong organizational and time-management capabilities
Work Environment:
Job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc. Requires operation of a computer and
viewing a monitor screen for extended periods of time (stationary position). Must be able to frequently communicate and exchange accurate information by phone and in-person.
