This is primarily an on-site position. After the initial training period, there will be an opportunity to work from home one day per week in coordination with the Director of HR.
The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and operational support for day-to-day HR activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Working closely with the Director of Human Resources, this position supports recruiting, onboarding, payroll and benefits administration, employee records, training, compliance, and employee communications.
The ideal candidate is approachable, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable supporting production employees, supervisors, and leadership.
Post job openings, review applications, schedule interviews, and coordinate communication with candidates, hiring managers, staffing agencies, and recruiting partners.
Prepare offer letters and coordinate pre-employment requirements under the direction of the HR Director.
Coordinate new-hire orientation, required paperwork, policy acknowledgments, and training documentation.
Process employee transfers, promotions, status changes, and separations.
Work with the payroll manager to review timekeeping and attendance records, coordinate corrections, and prepare payroll-related changes and reports.
Maintain paid-time-off records and escalate recurring attendance or timekeeping concerns.
Coordinate benefit enrollments, qualifying-life-event changes, terminations, and annual open enrollment activities.
Respond to routine employee questions and direct complex payroll or benefit matters to the HR Director or appropriate provider.
Maintain accurate and confidential personnel, medical, payroll, benefit, and training records.
Prepare HR letters, forms, reports, employee lists, etc..
Track HR deadlines, including performance reviews, training, certifications, policy acknowledgments, and required documentation.
Support the performance review process by distributing materials, monitoring completion, and filing finalized documentation.
Assist with employee communications, engagement, recognition, retention, and other HR initiatives.
Receive employee questions and concerns professionally, confidentially, and with sound judgment.
Promptly refer complaints, investigations, accommodation requests, disciplinary matters, leave issues, and other sensitive concerns to the HR Director.
Assist with employee-relations matters by gathering documentation, maintaining records, and scheduling meetings.
Support leave-of-absence, workers’ compensation, return-to-work, MN PFML, and other compliance processes.
Help communicate company policies and maintain required postings, licenses, certifications, and acknowledgments.
Maintain a visible and approachable presence in production, warehouse, and other operational areas.
Support new-hire safety orientation and maintain documentation related to safety training, incidents, and return-to-work activities.
Support employee communication across departments.
Follow all company safety requirements and confidentiality standards.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree.
One to three years of experience in human resources, recruiting, payroll, benefits, or administrative support.
Experience supporting a manufacturing, distribution, or hourly workforce is helpful.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and recurring deadlines.
Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn HR, payroll, and timekeeping systems.
SHRM-CP, PHR, or related coursework is helpful but not required.
This position works on-site and regularly enters production, warehouse, and other operational areas. The employee must follow applicable safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment. The position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
