Job Title: HVAC Apprentice

Position Summary

The HVAC Apprentice performs entry-level HVAC installation, maintenance, and service support under the direction of senior technicians. This role assists with commercial HVAC and refrigeration work while developing the skills required to advance into a technician-level position. The apprentice is expected to maintain a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to learning in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians with installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration systems


• Load, unload, and transport tools, materials, and equipment


• Assist in positioning, securing, and installing HVAC equipment


• Use hand and power tools as directed


• Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites


• Follow safety procedures and proper PPE usage at all times


• Participate in on-the-job training and technical education programs


• Develop foundational HVAC skills for advancement to technician level


• Support general jobsite labor and daily operational needs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required


• Enrollment in or completion of HVAC trade school or technical program preferred


• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record


• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team


• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability


• Basic math and communication skills


• Willingness to learn and develop technical skills

Preferred Skills

• EPA certification or willingness to obtain when eligible


• Basic understanding of HVAC systems and tools


• Construction or mechanical experience preferred


• Interest in long-term HVAC career development

Work Environment

• Commercial and residential job sites


• Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions


• Frequent physical labor including lifting, climbing, bending, and kneeling


• Exposure to mechanical equipment, tools, and construction environments
