HVAC Installer Multi-Family Construction Raleigh, NC

Charlotte Mechanical is seeking a skilled and dependable HVAC Installer to join our growing team in Raleigh, NC. This position focuses on the installation of HVAC systems in new multi-family residential construction projects. The ideal candidate has experience installing residential HVAC equipment, works safely and efficiently, and takes pride in producing quality work while meeting project schedules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Install air handlers, furnaces, heat pumps, and related HVAC equipment in new multi-family residential buildings.
• Install flex duct, metal ductwork, boots, ceiling registers, grilles, and diffusers.
• Assist with the installation of refrigerant lines, condensate drains, ventilation components, and equipment supports as required.
• Read and interpret blueprints, installation drawings, and specifications.
• Ensure installations comply with company standards, manufacturer requirements, and applicable building codes.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other construction equipment.
• Coordinate work with supervisors, subcontractors, and other trades to maintain project schedules.
• Follow all OSHA regulations and Charlotte Mechanical safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This position requires frequent work from 6-foot and taller ladders and may involve working at elevated heights.

• Previous HVAC installation experience in new residential or multi-family construction preferred.
• Working knowledge of HVAC installation methods, materials, and tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and follow installation specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable  transportation to job sites.

Physical Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an employee must be able to perform the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb.

• Frequently  work from ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work areas.
• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Perform repetitive overhead work throughout the workday.

Work Environment

This position is performed  on active construction sites. Employees regularly work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, and rain. Exposure to moving mechanical equipment, construction hazards, dust, noise, and elevated work areas should be expected. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
