HVAC Mechanic, General Maintenance (Overnight Shift)

Installs, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs heating and air conditioning equipment and control systems. Equipment sizes may vary depending on area of responsibility.

• Attends meetings, briefings, and training classes to increase knowledge and job performance. 
   
• Maintains mechanical equipment rooms in a neat and orderly fashion. 
   
• Performs preventive maintenance on heating and cooling system equipment. 
   
• Repairs or replaces other cooling or mechanical equipment including refrigerators, freezers, pumps and shop equipment. 
   
• Responds to cold or hot calls; starts or stops chillers and boilers.
   
• Tracks time, man-hours, and refrigerant usage; orders parts; coordinates with outside suppliers. 
   
• Troubleshoots and resolves problems in heating and air conditioning systems, locates problems and repairs or replaces defective parts. 
   
• Other related duties as assigned 
   

Associate’s Degree in relevant area and two (2) years of appropriate experience in installation, maintenance & repair of HVAC equipment. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. Must have an EPA Universal certification. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
