Job Description - HVAC Operations Technician

Key Responsibilities

Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshooting malfunctioning systems (AC, furnaces, heat pumps) and replacing parts.
Preventative Maintenance: Performing regular, scheduled maintenance on equipment to ensure efficiency.
Installation: Setting up new HVAC equipment, including wiring and ductwork.
Customer Service: Explaining technical issues to clients and providing repair options.
Documentation: Keeping accurate records of services and repairs.

Requirements

Certification: EPA Section 608 Certification is generally required for handling refrigerants.
Experience: 1–5+ years of experience is typically preferred for service roles, though apprenticeships are available.
Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, and good communication skills.
License: A valid driver’s license is required.
