HVAC Technician


Our client, a well-established air conditioning and mechanical services company serving the San Jose area, is seeking an experienced Journey-Level HVAC Technician to join their team.

Responsibilities



  • Diagnose and repair HVAC systems, including split systems, package units, heat pumps, and ductless mini-splits across residential and commercial properties

  • Perform installation of new HVAC equipment and replacement of existing systems

  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and tune-ups

  • Identify and resolve refrigerant issues, electrical faults, and mechanical failures

  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment manuals

  • Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety standards, and manufacturer specifications

  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and service options clearly to customers

  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts documentation

  • Keep company vehicle and tools organized, clean, and in good working condition


Requirements



  • EPA 608 Universal Certification

  • Minimum 4+ years of hands-on HVAC field experience

  • Proficiency with both residential and commercial HVAC systems

  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across multiple equipment brands

  • Solid understanding of electrical, refrigeration, and airflow principles

  • Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work on rooftops, in attics, and in confined spaces

  • Strong customer service and communication skills


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with building automation systems (BAS) or smart thermostats

  • NATE certification

  • Familiarity with Carrier, Trane, Lennox, or Daikin equipment

  • CA C-20 HVAC contractor license experience (or working toward licensure)
