HVAC Technician II

This role will perform HVAC repair and maintenance on all City owned facilities and operations.

• Conduct installations, repairs, and maintenance on various HVAC equipment, such as split systems, package units, rooftop units, bay heaters, mini-splits, etc.

• Install, maintain, and repair ice machines.

• Operate specialized equipment and tools related to the HVAC trade discipline.

• Collaborate with maintenance crews, providing support to ensure safe and efficient work at the worksite.

• Receive and process work orders, ensuring timely completion and adherence to division procedures.

• Assist in estimating project materials from blueprints and participates in the procurement of necessary supplies.

• Maintain accurate records of all work performed.

• Works extended/flexible hours, as necessary, during shutdowns of equipment and/or buildings.

• High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Valid South Carolina Driver’s License.

• Ability to complete work order management through a smart phone, tablet and/or computer.

• May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City’s needs.
