About the Position
Under the direction of the Lab Manager, the Hydrocarbon Extraction Technician will operate and maintain hydrocarbon extraction systems while supporting daily production. This position is responsible for safely operating extraction equipment, maintaining production schedules, meeting quality standards, and completing required documentation and compliance records.
Responsibilities
Operate hydrocarbon extraction systems according to established procedures and production schedules.
Monitor gas levels and maintain safety standards within the C1D1 processing environment.
Perform system evacuations, vacuum-downs, startups, shutdowns, and operational checks.
Operate and maintain supporting equipment including compressors, heaters, chillers, pumps, and recovery systems.
Monitor extraction runs and ensure product quality standards are met.
Troubleshoot operational issues and communicate concerns to the Lab Manager.
Complete production logs, run sheets, and documentation accurately.
Maintain records supporting product traceability and regulatory compliance.
Follow company SOPs, safety procedures, and OLCC regulations.
Coordinate workflow with filtration, distillation, and post-processing teams.
Assist with onboarding and training Extraction Assistants.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe extraction workspace.
Clean and sanitize extraction equipment before and after production runs.
Perform routine preventative maintenance and complete cleaning and maintenance records.
Assist with material movement and other production support activities as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
Strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset.
Ability to work safely in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Active OLCC Marijuana Worker Permit or ability to obtain one upon hire.
Preferred:
Previous extraction, manufacturing, process operations, chemical processing, or related experience.
Experience working in a regulated production environment.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement principles.
Experience training or mentoring team members.
Work Environment
This position is performed in a safety-sensitive laboratory and manufacturing environment. The role requires frequent standing, walking, communication, and use of hands to operate tools, controls, and equipment. Employees may occasionally need to lift or move up to 50 pounds and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Schedule: Full-time, with day or swing shift assignment based on operational needs.
