About the Role


A leading engineering and technology consulting firm is seeking an ICT Senior Consultant to join its Los Angeles team. This position is suited to an experienced technology systems designer with a background in one or more of the following areas:




  • Telecommunications / IT




  • Audio Visual




  • Electronic Security




  • Structured Cabling




The role will support the design and engineering of technology systems across a diverse portfolio of projects, working closely with clients, architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and other members of the design team.


Projects span a range of markets, including aviation, critical facilities, corporate environments, sports and entertainment, healthcare, and education. Aviation experience is particularly relevant for this position.


Responsibilities


As a Senior Technology Systems Consultant, you will support the design and delivery of technology systems across a variety of project types and sizes. You will work alongside senior technical staff while taking increasing ownership of complex design assignments.


Key responsibilities include:




  • Develop technology system designs, layouts, specifications, and system narratives for projects of varying size and complexity.




  • Produce design documentation using CAD/BIM platforms, including AutoCAD and/or Revit.




  • Perform calculations and technical analysis using appropriate software and methodologies.




  • Coordinate technology designs with architectural, engineering, and other disciplines.




  • Conduct field investigations and inspections to document existing conditions and coordinate proposed work.




  • Assist with due diligence, feasibility studies, gap analyses, technical reports, and related documentation.




  • Develop system application, design, and operational parameters under the direction of senior technical staff.




  • Apply knowledge of network connectivity, LAN/WAN fundamentals, and structured cabling.




  • Apply knowledge of Wi-Fi infrastructure, wireless access points, controllers, and related technologies.




  • Participate in and support QA/QC processes for project documentation.




  • Assist with project scheduling, staffing requirements, and budget development.




  • Support construction administration and field investigation activities.




  • Prepare inspection reports and other construction-phase documentation.




  • Assist with RFIs, change orders, bulletins, and addenda.




  • Maintain drawing organization and project documentation standards.




  • Support multidisciplinary technology design efforts, including drawings, calculations, research, reports, analysis, and specifications.




  • Coordinate closely with clients, owners, developers, contractors, architects, vendors, and other consultants.




  • Collaborate with internal and external project teams to ensure coordinated design delivery.




  • Take on additional responsibilities as required.




Requirements




  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.




  • 7–10 years of experience in audiovisual, telecommunications, IT, security, or related technology systems design.




  • Experience designing technology systems across multiple markets, ideally including aviation, critical facilities/data centers, healthcare, sports and entertainment, corporate interiors, and/or education.




  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.




  • Strong organizational and project coordination abilities.




  • Working knowledge of active network systems and structured cabling design.




  • Understanding of Wi-Fi network and telephony design concepts, including wireless coverage/heat maps.




  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit preferred.




  • Relevant professional or industry certification preferred/required, such as PE, PSP, CPP, CTS, CTS-D, RCDD, CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, PMP, or similar credentials.
