EliteCare Medical Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Nurse Manager to oversee all operations and functions within the Intensive Care Unit. This role requires a strong leader who can effectively manage patient care, staff performance, and departmental efficiency while ensuring compliance with facility policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
Manage all operations of the ICU, ensuring adherence to patient care standards and facility policies.
Maintain performance improvement activities and participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives.
Accountability:
Assume 24/7 accountability for the management of nursing and support resources within the ICU.
Communicate effectively with staff, providers, and leadership, aligning with the mission and strategic goals of KRMC.
Standards Implementation:
Implement, review, and revise standards of practice to reflect the evolving needs of patients and care delivery in the ICU.
Ensure efficient delivery of patient care through safe, cost-effective practices.
Quality Improvement:
Drive departmental operations to achieve quality improvement and patient satisfaction objectives.
Act as a liaison between patients, physicians, and staff to facilitate high-quality patient care.
Cultural Support:
Address cultural practices that do not interfere with medical care while promoting a respectful environment.
Policy Development:
Develop, communicate, and implement policies and procedures; monitor compliance to minimize risk factors.
Ensure availability of clear, concise, and current written guidelines for staff.
Staffing Management:
Maintain established staffing plans to ensure adequate coverage for optimal patient care.
Lead the performance appraisal system, providing routine feedback and conducting annual reviews.
Collaboration:
Work closely with Human Resources to resolve employee and labor management issues.
Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to utilize patient satisfaction survey findings for unit-based customer service initiatives.
Leadership & Mentorship:
Build a culture of teamwork and respect among all stakeholders.
Provide leadership and mentorship to staff, fostering professional development.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a clinical discipline required; Master’s Degree in a clinical discipline, Business, or Healthcare Management preferred.
Certifications:
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications (PALS and NIHSS within 90 days of hire).
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of clinical acute care hospital experience; at least two (2) years in management/leadership roles.
Recent experience in a critical care setting or leadership preferred.
