ID PROGRAM SPECIALIST 2 (Waiver Capacity)

This is a Merit Hire position. The hourly rate is $29.27. Dauphin County Mental Health/Autism/Developmental Programs is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of ID Program Specialist 2 (Waiver Capacity). The Program Specialist 2, Intellectual Disabilities Waiver Capacity Manager is responsible for program planning, policy development, analysis, and monitoring, as well as coordination of community Autism/Developmental Programs (A/DP) services.  The primary responsibilities of this position involve the planning, implementation, monitoring, analysis, and coordination of Medicaid Waiver services, Administrative Entity leadership responsibilities, and program evaluation of the Autism/Developmental Programs services. This position serves as the Waiver Capacity Manager and involves a lead role in the implementation, administration, and oversight of the Consolidated, Community Living, and Person/Family Directed Support Waivers. This position performs as a member of an integrated management team and must also coordinate with other community agencies and resources.  Work is performed under the direction of the Deputy Autism/Developmental Programs Administrator 2. 

This position requires excellent communication skills – written, oral, and efficient use of computer technology.  The responsibilities of this position require some travel to services and meetings in all parts of the county and occasionally to other parts of the state.  Occasional evening meetings are also required.  The position is in the MH/A/DP Administrator’s Office. 

Minimum Education, Experience, and Training Requirements:

• One year as an Intellectual Disabilities Program Specialist 1

• Or three years of professional-level experience in the field of intellectual disabilities and a bachelor's degree

• Or any equivalent combination of experience and training and a bachelor's degree

Other Requirements:

At the time of hire, a valid driver’s license and positive driving record, a favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances, as well as favorable references are required. The applicant must provide proof of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license within 60 days from the date of hire. An alternative form of identification will be accepted if you are not eligible to receive a Pennsylvania driver’s license under 67 PA. Code § 83 and driving is not an essential function of the position.
