Job Description - IL ESL Specialist â ASAP Interviewing!

Immediate Opportunity: ESL Instructor | Illinois | Elementary | Through End of School Year

Our Organization is collaborating with an Illinois school district to secure a qualified English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher for a short-term assignment in an elementary setting. This full-time role follows a consistent MondayâFriday schedule (7:50 AMâ3:10 PM) and runs from now through June 5, 2026.

This position is well-suited for an educator who is energized by working with diverse student populations and is committed to helping multilingual learners succeed. You will play a key role in strengthening studentsâ English proficiency across all domainsâlistening, speaking, reading, and writingâwhile building their confidence and ability to engage in academic instruction.

Responsibilities

You will provide structured ESL instruction tailored to individual language levels, while also reinforcing academic vocabulary used in core subject areas. Collaboration is essential in this role, as you will partner with classroom teachers and school staff to support student access to curriculum. Additional duties include tracking student progress, maintaining accurate records, and creating a supportive, inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an ESL endorsement. Previous experience in ESL or school-based settings is preferred. Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills are essential, along with a genuine commitment to supporting culturally and linguistically diverse students.
