The Implementation Manager is responsible for leading the successful launch, transition, and stabilization of new staffing programs and workforce solutions across client sites nationwide. This role serves as the primary project leader and executive-facing partner throughout implementation, managing cross-functional teams, client relationships, operational readiness, recruiting strategy, workforce transitions, and go-live execution. Key Responsibilities
Client & Executive Leadership
- Serve as the primary client-facing implementation lead throughout the project lifecycle.
- Build trusted relationships with client executives, operational leaders, HR partners, and site leadership.
- Facilitate executive steering meetings, implementation reviews, and go-live readiness discussions.
- Develop and deliver professional presentations, project updates, executive summaries, and business reviews.
- Provide strategic recommendations and consultative guidance regarding workforce transitions, recruiting strategies, and operational readiness.
- Represent the organization during client meetings, prospect discussions, and sales presentations as a subject matter expert.
Implementation & Project Leadership
- Lead multiple complex implementation projects simultaneously from contract execution through stabilization.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, risk assessments, communication plans, and implementation playbooks.
- Coordinate activities across Operations, Recruiting, HR, Payroll, Billing, IT, Safety, and Training.
- Establish project governance, milestones, success metrics, and reporting structures.
- Identify implementation risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies to remove barriers and ensure a successful go-live.
- Drive issue resolution and escalation management while maintaining project momentum.
- Ensure program stability before project close by confirming client-specific operational processes are in place and executed consistently, OSMs are fully trained and performing effectively, operational KPIs are achieved, and the program is ready for long-term success before formal implementation completion.
Operational Readiness & Workforce Transition
- Lead workforce transitions from incumbent staffing providers while minimizing operational disruption.
- Develop site-specific recruiting and onboarding strategies based on labor market conditions.
- Ensure all operational, payroll, billing, technology, reporting, and compliance requirements are established before go-live.
- Conduct market analyses to determine recruiting strategies, compensation positioning, and labor availability.
- Support site launch activities and provide hands-on leadership during critical implementation phases.
People Leadership
- Directly manage Implementation Specialists, Project Coordinators, or other implementation resources.
- Provide coaching, development, performance management, and succession planning for team members.
- Establish clear expectations, accountability measures, and professional development plans.
- Lead project teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct reporting relationships.
- Foster a culture of operational excellence, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Sales & Business Development Support
- Partner with Sales and Business Development teams during prospect evaluations and solution design discussions.
- Participate in client presentations, site visits, discovery meetings, and implementation planning sessions.
- Conduct operational assessments and implementation readiness reviews for prospective clients.
- Support proposal development, transition planning, and implementation cost modeling.
Continuous Improvement
- Develop and enhance implementation methodologies, tools, templates, and best practices.
- Lead post-implementation reviews and lessons-learned sessions.
- Identify opportunities to improve scalability, consistency, client experience, and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to enterprise-wide implementation standards and governance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Human Resources, Project Management, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of staffing, workforce solutions, operations, implementation, project management, or consulting experience.
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing people and cross-functional teams.
- Proven experience leading large-scale, multi-site, or complex client implementations.
- Strong executive presence with exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and deliver professional PowerPoint presentations and executive communications.
- Experience working directly with clients in highly visible, customer-facing environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar project management certifications preferred.
