MAT Assessor Clinician – Independent Clinical Contractor

Counseling4Kids is seeking an experienced, licensed mental health professional to provide MAT assessment and specialty mental health clinical services to children and families in Los Angeles County.

About the Opportunity

The Independent Contractor MAT Assessor Clinician will provide specialized assessment and clinical services to children and families, including infants and young children who may have experienced significant trauma, family disruption, or involvement with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).

Services may be provided in appropriate office, home, school, or community settings within Service Areas 2 & 8. 

The clinical services may include:

• Mental health assessments for children and families;
  


• Trauma-informed clinical assessment and treatment planning;


• Specialty Mental Health Services, as clinically appropriate;


• MAT-related assessments and Summary of Findings (SOF) reports;


• Participation in Child and Family Team processes;


• Intensive Care Coordination (ICC), when applicable to the contracted services;


• Clinical recommendations and coordination with multidisciplinary partners;


• Referrals and linkages to appropriate community resources;


• Individual and family clinical services, as appropriate to the contracted scope;


• Documentation of services in accordance with applicable clinical, regulatory, funding, and contractual requirements; and


• Other mutually agreed-upon clinical services within the contractor's professional scope of practice.

Qualifications

Required:

• Current, unrestricted California license as an:
  
  
  
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT);
  
  
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); or
  
  
  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
  
  
  
  


• Experience with MAT-based services.


• Experience with the birth-to-five population.


• Experience working with children and families involved with DCFS.
  


• Experience providing mental health services to children and families.


• Experience conducting clinical assessments, treatment planning, and/or crisis intervention.


• Knowledge of Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health systems and requirements.


• Ability to provide services consistent with applicable professional licensure and scope of practice.


• Valid California driver's license.


• Reliable transportation appropriate for providing services in community settings.


• Ability to maintain appropriate professional liability insurance and any other insurance required by the professional services agreement.


• Ability to maintain legally and professionally compliant clinical records.

Preferred:

• Training in DC:0-5, ICARE, or other early childhood mental health approaches.


• Training, certification, or roster status in PCIT and/or CPP.


• Progress toward or completion of Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health specialization/endorsement.


• Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency.
