 The Center for Family and Child Enrichment (CFCE) is dedicated to help children and their families by providing the right services and solutions based on individual needs.  CFCE is constantly evolving to better support our community.

As an Independent Living Specialist, you will have the responsibility of providing, coordinating and tracking training and services to independent living youth ages 13 to 18 and overseeing adherence to the Transition for Youth Protocol.

 Some of the Functions Include:

• Ensure adherence to all Pre- Independent Living, Independent Living, and Life Skills requirements, pursuant to FL statute, DCF, Citrus and CFCE Policy, and Citrus contract.
• Ensure that program referrals are made in a timely manner for all youth in CFCE’s Child Welfare Programs.
• Ensure that pre- IL and/or life skills assessments are completed and scored in a timely manner for each youth on their case load as required by law. 
• Ensure completion of Life Skills Annual Plan
• Arrange and participate (when necessary) in all required staffing as described by the current law for each youth assigned. (At ages 13, 14, 15, 15 ½, 16, 16 ½, 17, 17 ½, 17 ¾)
• Ensure completion of the staffing and reports for submission to the Court.  Copies of such reports shall be provided to Case Managers, Supervisors and POA’s, youth, and a copy uploaded to FSFN.
• Ensure the completion of the 16 ½ year old staffing and the Youth Transitional Plan and provide to the Case Manager for submission to Court.
• Coordinate Independent Living Life Skills classes to youth ages 15 to 18.

Minimum Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in the area of Psychology, Social Work, or related behavioral science discipline.

Minimum Experience

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with youth in preparation for independent living

Skills Needed

• Must be computer literate.
• Must be proficient in the use of FSFN, Microsoft Word, Windows, Microsoft Outlook, CJIS, ICWIS
• Excellent assessment skills and intervention strategies
• Ability to set appropriate limits and boundaries with clients
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
