JOB SUMMARY

Chicago Marriott Northwest is seeking an experienced Indian Cuisine Chef to prepare authentic, high-quality Indian cuisine while maintaining excellent standards of taste, presentation, consistency, and food safety.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  Prepare authentic Indian dishes according to established recipes and quality standards.

  Develop and execute Indian menus featuring vegetarian and non-vegetarian selections.

  
  


• 
  

  Prepare curries, biryanis, tandoori items, naan, kebabs, dals, breads, and regional specialties.

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain consistency in taste, portion size, presentation, and food quality.

  
  


• 
  

  Manage daily food preparation and kitchen organization.

  
  


• 
  

  Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering ingredients and supplies.

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain proper food storage, temperature control, and sanitation procedures.

  Train and guide kitchen staff on Indian cooking techniques.

  
  


• 
  

  Minimize food waste while maintaining proper portion control.

  Support hotel banquets, events, and guest dining operations.

  Maintain a clean, organized, and professional kitchen environment.

  
  

QUALIFICATIONS

• 
  

  3+ years of professional Indian cuisine experience preferred.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and traditional cooking techniques.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian Indian cuisine.

  
  


• 
  

  Hotel, restaurant, banquet, or high-volume kitchen experience preferred.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.

  Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

  Culinary education or professional culinary training is preferred.

  
  

COMPENSATION

$50,000 – $75,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
