Job Description - Individual Giving & Community Engagement Coordinator
Summary
The Individual Giving & Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that strengthen donor relationships, increase annual giving support, and expand community engagement opportunities for the Foundation. This position works collaboratively across departments and with community stakeholders to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and community partners in support of the Foundation’s mission.
The Coordinator will oversee and support key fundraising initiatives including employee giving, physician giving, grateful patient fundraising, online giving, direct mail appeals, donor recognition programs, and community-based fundraising partnerships. This role also manages a portfolio of donors and prospects, with an emphasis on donor retention, upgrades, and long-term engagement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Partnership Development
Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with community organizations, civic groups, and local partners to increase awareness, fundraising opportunities, and support for the Foundation.
Develop partnerships with faith-based organizations to encourage philanthropic participation and community involvement.
Represent the Foundation at community events, meetings, and outreach opportunities to strengthen visibility and engagement.
Identify creative opportunities for community-based fundraising and donor engagement initiatives.
Individual Giving & Donor Relations
Design and implement donor engagement strategies to optimize fundraising support through programs including but not limited to:
Annual Giving
Employee Giving
Physician Giving
Online Giving
Direct Mail Appeals
Grateful Patient Program
Baby Wall
Brick Garden
Identify, qualify, segment, and manage prospective donors for unrestricted and restricted annual giving opportunities.
Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects through cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and follow-up activities.
Develop and implement strategies to renew, retain, and upgrade current donors.
Identify lower-level donors with the potential to move into higher giving levels and develop engagement plans to support donor growth.
Donor Stewardship & Recognition
In collaboration with the Chief Development Officer, develop and oversee donor recognition programs, stewardship initiatives, and donor benefits.
Ensure timely and meaningful donor acknowledgment, recognition, and communication.
Assist in creating donor-centered messaging and engagement opportunities that deepen relationships with the Foundation.
Campaign & Program Support
Coordinate and support the Foundation’s employee giving campaign, including promotional activities, communications, and participation strategies.
Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising appeals and donor engagement campaigns.
Support program development efforts to enhance individual giving performance and community participation.
Database & Reporting
Work closely with the Database Coordinator to maintain accurate and complete donor and prospect records within Raiser’s Edge.
Record donor interactions, communications, solicitations, and stewardship activities in a timely manner.
Assist with donor reporting, prospect tracking, and fundraising analytics to support development goals and strategy.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, business, public relations, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, community engagement, sales, or nonprofit development preferred.
Experience with annual giving campaigns, donor stewardship, and community outreach strongly preferred.
Familiarity with donor database systems; experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred.
Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor database software.
