Industrial Janitor & Grounds Maintenance Worker

Job Summary

We are seeking a hardworking and dependable Industrial Janitor & Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for keeping our facility clean, sanitary, and well-maintained, both inside and out. This position requires a forklift certification or the ability to safely operate a forklift, as you will routinely move heavy trash receptacles, large waste bins, and other industrial items. You will work directly in our industrial warehouse environment, which is subject to fluctuating hot and cold outdoor weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Janitorial & Interior Cleaning

• Clean and sweep floors: Sweep, mop, and power-scrub warehouse floors, walkways, and breakrooms to maintain safety and cleanliness.


• Sanitize restrooms: Clean, disinfect, and fully restock restrooms with necessary supplies daily.


• Window cleaning: Wash interior and exterior windows, glass doors, and mirrors.


• Spill response: Promptly clean up industrial spills or messes using appropriate safety gear and disposal methods

Waste Management & Forklift Operation

• Empty trash: Collect and empty all warehouse, office, and outdoor trash and recycling bins.


• Operate forklift: Safely drive a forklift to transport heavy, oversized waste containers and pallets to the external dumpsters or compactors.


• Material handling: Assist in moving heavy materials, equipment, or pallets within the warehouse as needed to keep paths clear.

Grounds & Lawn Maintenance

• Lawn care: Perform routine outdoor lawn maintenance, including mowing grass, trimming edges, and weeding green spaces.


• Property upkeep: Clear outdoor walkways and parking areas of litter, debris, and leaves.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

•  


• Temperature variations: Must be comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment exposed to extreme heat in the summer and cold in the winter.


• Physical stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry heavy objects (up to 50+ lbs) for the duration of a shift.


• Outdoor exposure: Willingness to work outside regularly for groundskeeping duties regardless of weather conditions.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Previous experience in industrial cleaning, janitorial work, or warehouse maintenance preferred.


• Equipment skills: Valid forklift operator certification is highly preferred (or willingness to complete company-sponsored training immediately upon hire).


• Tools: Familiarity with outdoor lawn equipment (mowers, weed eaters) and industrial cleaning supplies.


• Reliability: Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.


• Safety mindset: Compliance with all OSHA safety standards, especially regarding chemical usage, lifting, and forklift operations.
