Job Description - Infant/Toddler Teacher

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:


To ensure our youngest children have a solid foundation for life. Responsible for developing and implementing an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child enrolled, in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards. To promote family engagement in all aspects of the program. To abide by the Malheur County Child Development Centers Code of Conduct. Maintain confidentiality at all times.


Employment-Related Requirements


Employment is contingent upon enrollment in State of Oregon Central Background Registry.



Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate Credential (CDA). Preferred: A.A/B.A. in early childhood education with course work in infant and toddler development.


Job Responsibilities



  • Conduct developmental screenings, assessments, and ongoing evaluations to identify each child's developmental and learning needs, and develop individualized learning plans to support their growth.

  • Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity in all interactions with children, families, staff, and community members, as well as in the selection of learning materials and delivery of instruction.

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences; prepare instructional materials and complete required documentation, including lesson plans, child observations, and other related reports.

  • Provide continuous supervision of children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and secure environment at all times.

  • Follow all MCCDC policies and procedures related to infant and toddler care, including feeding, toileting, and rest time routines.

  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss children's progress, developmental goals, and family engagement opportunities.

  • Complete home visits in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards.

  • Participate in all required professional development, training, and staff meetings.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment that supports children's learning and well-being.
