Position: Infection Prevention Specialist Coordinator-RN\n\nDepartment: PHP Infection Prevention \n\nShift: 7AM-3:30PM \n\nFacility: Miami Valley Hospital/ Will cover all hospitals \n\nThe Infection Prevention Specialist Coordinator is responsible for alignment of the infection prevention program\u2019s goals with the system/organizational strategic priorities and annual operating plan. The role is developed from the needs of the entire Premier Partners system and hospital community to reduce the risk of infection for patients, all staff and visitors. The IPC collaborates with persons administratively and clinically responsible for inpatient and outpatient departments as well as non-patient care support areas based on interpretation and evaluation of CMS, CDC, OSHA, ODH, APIC, TJC, and EPA guidelines, standards and/or regulations or other standards related to infection control and epidemiology.\n\nEducation \nMinimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor\u0027s degree \nAdditional requirements: \nType of degree: Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Nursing required; Master\u2019s Degree in Nursing preferred \n \nLicensure/Certification/Registration \nCurrent State of Ohio licensure as Registered Nurse \nCertification in Infection Control strongly preferred (upon hire) or completed within 3 years from date in position or as outlined in MOU.\n\n \nExperience \nMinimum Level of Experience Required: 3 - 5 years of job related experience \nPreferred experience: Two years of experience in the specialty of infection control is preferred \nOther experience requirements: Three years clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting required\n\nKnowledge/Skills\n\n * Attendance at a basic infection control training course may be required when eligible. \n * Skilled at using NHSN (CDC\u0027s National Healthcare Safety Network); ability to evaluate others performance. Possesses understanding of epidemiology and study design; can conduct basic cluster/epidemic investigations. \n * Proficient in key clinical and administrative databases required for active surveillance (i.e. EMRs, lab systems, ADT, surgery systems, pharmacy and radiology information). \n * Must have a nimble adaptive management style that can adapt to rapid change or shift in emerging science or regulatory requirements. \n * Must be able to lead and facilitate multidisciplinary teams and provide consensus building skills as needed. \n * Effective verbal and written skills are required. Has experience in presenting to large audiences.\n\n\n
