Infrastructure Administrator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Administer, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments and related infrastructure.

· Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, user authentication, and other core Microsoft services.

· Administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and other cloud-based services.

· Maintain virtual server environments and supporting compute, storage, and networking infrastructure.

· Monitor infrastructure performance, capacity, availability, and system health.

· Maintain LAN, WAN, VPN, firewall, wireless, and site-to-site network connectivity.

· Configure and troubleshoot switches, routers, firewalls, access points, VPN connections, and related network equipment.

· Support connectivity between corporate offices, data centers, cloud environments, and remote business locations.

· Administer server and infrastructure backup systems and regularly verify successful backups.

· Participate in disaster recovery testing, documentation, and recovery procedures.

· Maintain system patching, firmware updates, operating system updates, and infrastructure lifecycle management.

· Monitor infrastructure alerts and proactively address potential reliability or security issues.

· Troubleshoot escalated incidents involving servers, networking, authentication, applications, connectivity, and infrastructure.

· Work with vendors and service providers to troubleshoot telecommunications, networking, hardware, software, and infrastructure issues.

· Participate in the planning and implementation of infrastructure upgrades, migrations, deployments, and technology projects.

· Support new locations, relocations, acquisitions, integrations, and technology installations as required.

· Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure configurations, network diagrams, systems, procedures, credentials, and technology standards.

· Identify aging or unsupported technology and provide recommendations for replacement or improvement.

· Performs other duties as assigned by IT management.

· Participate in infrastructure maintenance outside normal business hours when necessary.

Infrastructure Responsibilities

· The Infrastructure Administrator may support technologies including:

· Microsoft Windows Server

· Active Directory and Group Policy

· Microsoft 365

· Microsoft Entra ID

· DNS and DHCP

· Virtualization platforms

· Server and storage infrastructure

· Firewalls and VPN technologies

· LAN/WAN networking

· Managed switches and wireless networks

· SD-WAN technologies

· Backup and disaster recovery platforms

· Endpoint protection and EDR solutions

· Infrastructure monitoring platforms

· Remote access technologies

· Cloud and SaaS applications

· Network security technologies

· UPS and supporting data center equipment

Minimum Qualifications

· 3+ years of professional experience administering IT infrastructure, systems, or networks.

· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server environments.

· Experience administering Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.

· Experience with Microsoft 365 and cloud identity technologies.

· Working knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.

· Experience troubleshooting server, network, and infrastructure-related issues.

· Experience working with virtualization technologies.

· Experience with backup and disaster recovery technologies.

· Ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex technical problems.

· Ability to document technical configurations and procedures clearly.

· Strong organizational and time-management skills.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.

Preferred Qualifications

· 5+ years of infrastructure, systems administration, or network administration experience.

· Experience supporting a multi-site or geographically distributed organization.

· Experience supporting retail, convenience store, hospitality, restaurant, or other 24/7 operational environments.

· Experience with enterprise firewall and SD-WAN technologies.

· Experience with hyperconverged or enterprise virtualization infrastructure.

· Experience with infrastructure monitoring and automation tools.

· Experience supporting cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments.

· Experience with PowerShell or other scripting/automation technologies.

· Experience participating in disaster recovery or business continuity exercises.

· Familiarity with PCI DSS or other security/compliance frameworks.

· Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, Fortinet, VMware, Nutanix, or comparable industry certifications.

Physical and Availability Requirements

· Ability to occasionally lift and move computer, network, or server equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.

· Ability to work in server rooms, network closets, offices, and remote business locations as required.

· Ability to travel to company locations when necessary.

· Ability to perform scheduled maintenance outside normal business hours when required.

· Ability to participate in after-hours escalation or on-call support as assigned.
