THE WORK:


  • You’ll identify all permits and approvals required for the construction, operation, and maintenance of public transit projects.

  • You’ll prepare and submit permit applications to the appropriate authorities, ensuring documentation is accurate and complete.

  • You’ll track the status of submitted permits and proactively resolve issues or respond to requests for additional information from permitting agencies.

  • You’ll serve as the primary point of contact between the project team and regulatory bodies.

  • You’ll interpret and communicate permitting requirements to project managers, engineers, and contractors.

  • You’ll maintain an up‑to‑date database of permits, conditions, expiration dates, and compliance requirements.

  • You’ll coordinate with environmental, engineering, and legal teams to ensure all project elements meet regulatory standards.

  • You’ll monitor regulatory changes and advise the project team on potential impacts to schedules and requirements.

  • You’ll participate in meetings with public agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders as needed.

  • You’ll prepare reports and presentations on permitting status for internal and external audiences.

  • Onsite at client site: The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate our client relationships.

  • With all our roles, there is some in-person time for collaboration, learning and building relationships with clients, peers, leaders and communities. As an employer, we will be as flexible as possible to support your specific work/life needs.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:


  • Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, environmental science, engineering, public administration, or a related field

  • 10+ years of experience obtaining permits assessments for transit related projects, WA state permitting experience strongly preferred

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:


  • Must be a self-starter that is reliable, responsive to client needs, professional, and have the ability to maintain long-term relationships with clients and other construction related and business professionals and handle confidential information with discretion and trustworthiness

  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations, building codes, and land use policies. Knowledge of NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) and other environmental permitting frameworks

  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software

  • Learning oriented, creative and possess advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to transfer prior experience to new projects


 
$140,000 - $230,000 a year
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Illinois, Minnesota, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Ohio or Washington as set forth below.
