Infrastructure DevOps Lead (TS/SCI with Poly Required)

At GCI, we solve the hard problems. As an Infrastructure DevOps Lead, a typical day will include the following duties:

The Infrastructure DevOps Lead will manage the design and implementation of complex cloud infrastructure and DevOps solutions.  In addition to being a hands-on technical leader with experience in cloud migrations, infrastructure as code, and container orchestration, the lead will use their firsthand technical expertise in AWS technologies and security hardening to develop robust, scalable infrastructure platforms and solutions. They must be at ease working in an Agile environment using Kanban methodologies, as well as embody a passion for continuous improvement and innovation in infrastructure automation and deployment processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead an Agile team using Kanban methodologies to deliver infrastructure and DevOps solutions


• Serve as a hands-on technical leader in cloud infrastructure, automation, and deployment strategies


• Guide technical direction using infrastructure as code principles and best practices


• Navigate security processes and accreditation requirements with the customer to ensure compliance


• Harden AWS environments and architectures to meet stringent security and operational requirements


• Manage and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a collaborative environment.


• Work with external stakeholders to map requirements and tasks for infrastructure deployments


• Collaborate with development teams to find integrated solutions that align infrastructure with application needs


• Lead cloud migration efforts from on-premises hardware to AWS infrastructure


• Manage container orchestration platforms, particularly Kubernetes (EKS preferred)


• Deploy and manage CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous delivery of applications and infrastructure


• Scale COTS and GOTS applications to meet large enterprise application requirements


• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in infrastructure automation and deployment processes


• Conduct architecture reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members


• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance infrastructure offerings

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience


• Minimum of eight (8) years current experience leading the development and implementation of complex infrastructure and DevOps solutions applying Agile methodologies

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Demonstrated experience leading Agile teams using Kanban methodologies to deliver infrastructure solutions


• Proven ability to navigate security processes and accreditation requirements with customers in complex environments


• Expertise in guiding technical direction using infrastructure as code technologies and frameworks


• Demonstrated experience hardening AWS environments and architectures to meet customer security and compliance requirements


• Established experience working with external stakeholders to map requirements and coordinate deployments tasks


• Proven ability to collaborate with development teams to identify and implement integrated solutions


• Extensive hands-on experience with Kubernetes container orchestration (EKS preferred)


• Demonstrated experience leading cloud migration projects from on-premises hardware to AWS infrastructure


• Subject matter expert in infrastructure automation languages including Ansible and Terraform


• Proficiency with scripting languages including Python and Bash, and extensive Linux system administration experience


• Demonstrated experience deploying and managing CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins and ArgoCD


• Proven ability taking COTS and GOTS applications and deploying them at scale for large enterprise applications


• Prior experience delivering software, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps solutions that adhere to the client or IC data handling, compliance, and security requirements

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience managing and securing networks enclaves in complex environments


• Experience deploying serverless solutions using AWS Lambda for automation and event-driven architectures


• Experience managing and scaling ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) clusters for logging and monitoring


• Experience with x.509 certificate management, PKI Infrastructure, and certificate lifecycle automation
