Job Summary: With minimal supervision, is able to review data within the trauma registry database and work collaboratively with other members of the trauma team in the data collection process to plan, organize, coordinate and evaluate injury prevention while working with community partners and resources. Will show a high level of proficiency in data management and validity working directly with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Manager.
Minimum Education: Has completed the basic professional curricula of a school of nursing as approved and verified by a state board of nursing, and holds or is entitled to hold a diploma or degree therefrom. Bachelor's of Science in Nursing required.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License. BLS, ACLS, TNCC (instructor preferred), or ENPC (Instructor preferred).
Work Experience: 3-4 years working in either Trauma ICU or Emergency Room
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrates competency and professionalism in verbal and written communication, proficient computer literacy with strong verbal and writing skills, must be able to work in an environment subject to multiple changing priorities and demands.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Collaborates closely with Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Manager to ensure compliance with the Oklahoma State Health Department rules and regulations as well as the American College of Surgeon's standards related to performance improvement. Develops and implements at least two injury prevention programs annually based on injury data from the Trauma Center (programs must address the top mechanisms of injury observed by the trauma center). Participates in community events as a Trauma Center representative. Attends meetings and committees at the hospital and in the trauma service area to establish and develop community relationships. Serves as a liaison between the trauma center and community resources to ensure strong relationships and collaborative efforts. Actively seeks out opportunities for partnership and support within the communities served to develop and implement injury prevention programs and activities. Collaborates with the national, state, regional and local agencies in developing, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of prevention and public education programs.

Working Relationship: Coordinates activities of others (does not supervise). Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff. Works frequently with individuals at Director level or above.
