Job Description - Inside Sales Engineer

Eaton\u2019s ES AMER NAS division is currently seeking an Inside Sales Engineer. Candidates for this role must reside within 50 miles of one of the following locations to be considered for the position: Fenton, MO; Omaha, NE or Lenexa, KS.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nPosition Overview: \nThe primary function of an Inside Sales Engineer (ISE) role will be to support management, outside sales engineers and internal/external customers in providing effective solutions to challenging problems involving technical, service and commercial issues in the Eaton Electrical Sales Division. Responsibilities include but are not limited to closing orders based upon expertise developed in selling skills and technical knowledge, selling abilities to position Eaton Electrical into preferred position in market and customer activity, providing technical knowledge regarding products/services and negotiating \u0026 pricing industrial and construction projects. This role also sells assigned product lines to targeted customers in designated geography or industry with the objective of optimizing sales volume, product mix and profit margin. The ISE provides technical product support for distributors and other duties that may be assigned by the Area Sales Manager. \n\n\nIn this function you will: \n\u2022 Coordinate pricing quotes with the field sales team, pricing department, and product managers \n\u2022 Review and interpret customer needs on plans and specifications; determine the minimum bill of material, most competitive price level and shipment cycle within the market segment pertaining to each specific negotiation \n\u2022 Proactively facilitate timely solutions to customer issues by utilizing available resources or creating procedures for resolution \n\u2022 Coordinate warranty and non-warranty repairs and returns, which include shipping issues or service requests \n\u2022 Project manage small to medium projects on as needed basis \n\u2022 Establish and maintain the highest possible commercial relations with present and potential customers (internal and external) by effectively employing the highest level of skills about the art of salesmanship, application engineering, product knowledge, knowledge of customers business and organization and knowledge of Eaton product lines strategic plans for sales growth\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications: \n\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree from an accredited institution \n\u2022 Minimum one (1) year of work experience \n\u2022 Possess a valid driver\u2019s license \n\u2022 No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Fenton, MO; Omaha, NE or Lenexa, KS to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering \n\u2022 Experience or exposure to a manufacturing organization \n\u2022 Electrical experience with low to medium voltage systems \n\u2022 Commercial experience \n\u2022 Sales and/or marketing experience \n\n## Skills:\n\nPosition Criteria: \n\u2022 Possess excellent communication skills \n\u2022 Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future \n\u2022 Ability to work in a team-oriented environment \n\u2022 Ability to travel up to 10%\n\nAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process. All candidates will be evaluated based on job-related competencies, and all candidates\u2019 privacy rights and data security will be protected in accordance with applicable laws. \n\nThe compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive.
