Today, the Elkton PS\u0026C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL.\n\nElkton, Maryland is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. Experience panoramic views from Turkey Point Lighthouse on a bluff overlooking the Bay, or from the banks of the C\u0026D Canal where ships from around the globe cruise. https://www.ccgov.org/government/tourism\n\nJob Description:\n\n * Use process control documents, inspection plans, and prescribed specifications to visually and dimensionally inspect in-process and completed components, subassemblies and assemblies.\n * Work from process documents, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists.\n * Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.\n * Perform mechanical or electrical inspections on manufactured/purchased components and assemblies.\n * Use various measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, thickness gages, height gages, shore A \u0026 D hardness gages, and electronic measuring devices (Coordinate Measuring Machines). \n * Perform First Article Inspections.\n * Perform line inspections after critical operations to ensure all materials, components, and/or assemblies are acceptable.\n * Perform mathematical calculations to ensure compliance with inspection criteria.\n * Operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), using PC-DMIS software, including development and maintenance of programs, set up and execution.\n * Create inspection reports as needed from drawings or inspection plans.\n * Accept, reject, or rework defective or malfunctioning units or systems.\n * Investigate non-conformances and participate in root cause and corrective action activities.\n * Support safety efforts through participation in job safety analysis (JSA), building inspections and other safety duties as required.\n * Be flexible in work skills and daily tasks assigned including availability to work overtime and weekends.\n\n\n\nThe selected candidate will be hired to the level of demonstrated experience, education, and competency.\n\nBasic Qualifications for level 3:\n\n * At least 4 years of experience and/or combination of additional education.\n * Ability to obtain a secret clearance, US citizenship is a prerequisite.\n * Experience in a manufacturing environment\n * Ability to program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) under guidance of qualified programmers.\n * Attention to detail.\n * Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and time management skills.\n * Self-motivated.\n * Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications for level 4:\n\n * At least 6 years of experience and/or combination of additional education.\n * Ability to obtain a secret clearance, US citizenship is a prerequisite.\n * Experience in a manufacturing environment\n * Ability to independently program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).\n * Attention to detail.\n * Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and time management skills.\n * Self-motivated.\n * Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001\n * Ability to obtain and maintain ATF Employee Possessor.\n * Background in GD\u0026T.\n * IPC J-STD-001, 610/620 training or experience.\n * PC-DMIS programming experience.\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $50,900.00 - $84,900.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $63,500.00 - $105,900.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
