Overview: The Instructional Designer works closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders to design and develop product training. The Instructional Designer is responsible for maintaining Inovalon's standards in support of on-demand training materials for customers, partners, and employees. The instructional designer is responsible for selecting and using audience-appropriate learning methodologies and measurement tools to maintain the quality of training materials.


Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Outline the concept of a course, define the course medium, content delivery, assessments, accompanying materials, and complementary learning approaches.

  • Define training programs and core content project schedules, work effort estimates, monitor, and track project tasks and report overall progress and completion deliverables to management.

  • Create effective instructional design for CBTs, live training, job aids, visual aids, and other appropriate tools to drive effective learning for internal and external customers, including leveraging adult-learning tools such as quizzes, gamification, interactive CBTs, etc.

  • Consult with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and focus groups to create engaging, interactive course content and learning activities that increase the retention of knowledge to learners.

  • Assure all materials meet brand and marketing standards.

  • Evaluate current training curriculum and materials to design a uniform look and feel, incorporate adult learning concepts and ensure best practices.

  • Develop and monitor a method to measure the effectiveness of training enhancements to include reporting to management on a regular cadence.

  • Aid management in the analysis of operational systems for performance efficiencies and program enhancement opportunities.

  • Keep up to date with industry trends, learning tools, and standards.

  • Maintain compliance with lnovalon's policies, procedures and mission statement.

  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as always outlined within lnovalon’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position.

  • Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by lnovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Company.

  • Uphold responsibilities relating to the separation of duties for applicable processes and procedures within your job function.

Education:



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (B.A./B.S.) in Information Technology or related field of study, or a combination of education and experience required

  • Experience: 2+ Years of related experience in a content development or instructional design.

  • Experience applying instructional design methods that incorporate adult learning theory and best practices to achieve learning goals required

  • Experience working with a Learning Management Systems (LMS)


Skills and Abilities:



  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated visual design skills and ability to storyboard

  • Understanding of project management concepts

  • Ability to think beyond the box and bring a fresh perspective

  • Solid analytical skills to assess effectiveness of current training materials

  • Strong operational knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to multi-task, meet multiple deadlines and handle pressure with tact and poise

  • Highly motivated, dependable, and a team player

  • Articulate Studio software experience is a plus
