Pay: $155,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year

Note: This role requires Illinois bar admission (2022 or earlier) and a minimum of 2 years of insurance coverage litigation experience. Candidates without coverage litigation experience will not be considered.

Job Description

• Analyze insurance policies, draft comprehensive coverage opinions, and deliver clear, actionable recommendations to insurer clients
• Handle all phases of insurance coverage litigation, from pleadings through trial preparation and resolution
• Attend and participate in depositions, court appearances, hearings, and mediations
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery responses, and legal memoranda to the highest standard
• Conduct thorough legal research and translate complex findings into clear, persuasive written work product
• Collaborate closely with partners, associates, and support staff on multi-matter litigation projects
• Communicate directly with clients, building trust and delivering strategic legal guidance
• Represent clients in court and before government agencies
• Negotiate settlements and assist in resolving complex coverage disputes efficiently

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school
• Admitted to practice in Illinois (2022 bar admission or earlier)
• 2+ years of insurance coverage litigation experience; experience representing insurers is strongly preferred
• Familiarity with commercial general liability (CGL) insurance policies
• Strong analytical, research, writing, and oral communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to manage a fast-paced, multi-matter caseload
