Intake Specialist

The Intake Specialist serves as the first point of contact for youth, families, and referral partners seeking juvenile diversion services. The role focuses on preventing youth from entering or re-entering the juvenile justice system by connecting families to case management, counseling, social services, and community resources.

Key responsibilities include:

• Contacting and screening referrals within 24 hours, with a maximum of two business days.


• Completing phone intakes or directly connecting families to services.


• Following up with referral sources, including schools, probation, law enforcement, and community organizations.


• Participating in school, parent, staff, and multidisciplinary team meetings.


• Presenting available services at community and partner meetings.


• Maintaining accurate case files, referral data, and required reports.


• Entering client information into the agency's electronic data system.


• Protecting client confidentiality and complying with HIPAA requirements.


• Coordinating with community organizations to maintain updated service resources.

The position requires an associate degree, at least two years of experience in youth and family services, and two years of customer service experience. Candidates must be bilingual in English and Spanish and possess strong communication, organization, time-management, confidentiality, and problem-solving skills. The position may require evening or weekend work, travel, youth transportation, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
