Location: Boston, MA / New York, NY / Pittsburgh, PA / Princeton, NJ / Washington, DC

Work arrangement: Hybrid - This is a hybrid position requiring 3+ days in-office in one of the firm's locations.

Compensation: $215K - $270K base

Experience: 4 - 6 years

Bar admission: District of Columbia, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York or Pennsylvania

About the opportunity

This opportunity is for an Associate to join a growing Intellectual Property practice within a national firm. The role involves working with a diverse client base and collaborating with a supportive national IP team.

What you'll do

• Draft and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications.


• Prepare patentability opinions for mechanical engineering clients.


• Strategically plan and maintain patent portfolios.


• Work on matters involving machines and mechanical inventions.


• Collaborate with a national IP team across multiple offices.

What you bring (required)

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.


• Patent drafting and prosecution experience.


• USPTO registration.


• Juris Doctorate (JD).


• Active bar admission in District of Columbia, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York or Pennsylvania.


• Strong academic record and communication skills.
